I’ve always thought you were AMAZING! Xo 😘 👩‍🌾💕

I can relate to this so much in other ways even though I don't dip. Similar circumstances.. that was a wise read, thankyou ❤️.

Thank YOU for reading and letting me know it gave you pause to think. We do things so often from default not intention. I'm *trying* to be better about asking myself what feels right for me in that moment:) Sometimes easier said than done.

I wonder what things I routinely do without thought of purpose and enjoyment. Your experience has made me question my “should” or “have to”. 🧐

Amy McHugh's avatar

thank you for reading! so many SHOULDs. Ugh, enough with duty calls!

Thanks for this important reminder!

I need to ask myself more often why I am doing this or that.

Amy McHugh's avatar

we start doing things because we’re told to or we think we “have” to. Or, worse, we “should.” I call BS to all of it!

This was so beautiful and real! I loved it. I admire you for writing with vulnerability and truth! That’s the most beautifully brave thing you can do.

Amy McHugh's avatar

thank you, britnie:) sometimes i think i'm crazy for putting "it" all out "there," but during the darkest times of my life, i've felt so alone and wished i could read about someone going through the same thing. we need to read and talk more about the universal pain we all experience but hesitate to share.

Agreed! It would help people heal so much just to get it out and stop holding their truth inside. I feel like slowly we are working towards it. It’s easier for some, but those are the ones that will give the rest of them the courage to.

Love!!! I understand and walk that thin tightrope sometimes!!! After being snowbound for 4 days I am excitedly heading for a dip!!! Love you!!!

It's basically a summer day today, so enjoy!!! Love you too!

I have full chills (emotional dip?) this resonated deeply; it is also phenomenally written to hit those of us that once performed to exorcise our demons… this will stay with me, thank you for writing!

Nora, THANK YOU for restacking! Made my day. I'm touched it resonated with you. I just never know.

This really resonates with me. I developed a similar relationship with running until the point were I stopped completely because I had begun to dread it. After a two year break, I am back to doing when I want to. I needed to find my way back to that feeling.

Amy McHugh's avatar

Same thing! Running is good for you, until it takes over and becomes a beast. Breaks are good. Thanks for reading!

Thank you. This piece spoke to much of what I am currently navigating in my life, I truly enjoyed your words and vulnerability. Excellent read over coffee ☕️

Amy McHugh's avatar

Oh, thank you for letting me know, Rin! You never know what's going to resonate with someone. Hit or miss. I'm sipping coffee too, post blizzard, after 4 days (!!!!) without power or cable service was restored last night:)

So glad you finally have power back, and that you too were enjoying a morning cup of joe!

What's your choice of brand? Mine is Peet's Major Dickason's!

Rin Sinclair McLaughlin's avatar

Black rifle when I can afford it, veteran owned 🤘🤟 but usually chock full of nuts. I love tea as well, so I have an abundance of different lose teas and pre bagged 😌☕️

i’m house poor after the divorce and tried 8 o’clock coffee recent and was so pleasantly surprised. It was great! now i wanna try black rifle!

Coffee is one of life's greatest moments !!!
